Facilities

Browsing centre


In an effort towards ensuring digital learning, the college library has set up a Browsing centre with a view to promote, facilitate and support the indispensable teaching and learning process. It enables students and teachers to access all types of information from resources across the globe. Moreover, Covid -19 has also changed the educational process to a great extent, with the distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. The browsing centre is equipped with 15 computers installed in separate cabins and is connected to wi-fi on lease line with bsnl broadband of 70-100 mbps and  net data range to 600Gb per month. There are 15 browsing tables, 15 revolving chairs, 1 Power Generator –DG Set in the browsing centre. It is also provided with a Photostat machine cum printer to facilitate the users to print the downloaded information for their convenience. The browsing centre has been functional providing opportunities to students and teachers to access the online resources.


WELL-EQUIPPED LABORATORIES
The college has well-equipped Modern Laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Home-Science, Food Science, Psychology, Geography, Statistics, Music and Bio-technology. All the equipments related to under-graduate practicals are available.

LIBRARY
The Library is located in the heart of academic complex and is accessible easily to all the students. It is well equipped with a collection of above 50,000 books comprising of Text Books, Reference Books, General Books, Literary Books, Periodicals and Journals. It is subscribing to nearly all-leading Newspapers. The library is open all working days during the working hours.

BOOK BANK
Book Bank comprises of Text as well as other reference books to be issued to the deserving candidates under UGC Aid Norms. The Text Books are issued to the students for the whole session and are returned by them at the time of receiving University Roll No.
NOTE: Books covered under this section are not for general circulation, as this section is specifically meant for above mentioned students.

COMPUTER AND MODERN LEARNING METHODS
Computer facility which is must in this modern age has also been provided by the college management. The net surfing facility is also available to the students and the College has facility for imparting Quality Education by modern teaching methods using audio-visual aids. A Sify Cyber Café is also available in the Physics Department for the students to access the Internet facility at discounted price.

XEROXING
Xerox facility is provided in the college premises and it is available to all the students and staff during office hours at subsidized rates.

CANTEEN / FOOD COURT
Adequate canteen facility is also available in college. The canteen provides eatables at reasonable rates in most clean and hygienic conditions as obligatory under the health laws. The canteen is run by a contractor and the Food Court is managed and monitored by Dept. of Food Sciences, Dept. of Home Science and Students . A Nescafe Counter is also established in the College premises to cater to the needs of the students.

HOSTEL
The College provides suitable hostel facility with proper mess for students from far-flung areas. It has an accommodation for over 250 students with 3-4 students adjusted per room. The hostel rooms are provided with all comforts necessary for the students. A recreation hall cum indoor games facility has been recently introduced in the hostel.

COLLEGE HEALTH CENTRE
College has a dispensary for students and the staff for providing First Aid facility in times of emergency and for minor troubles. The college dispensary is managed by a whole time trained Pharmacist during college hours.

PARKING FACILITY
The College has sufficient area and facility for the Parking of vehicles of College Staff and the students.

BUS FACILITY
The college has a Bus facility for the college students. Those who want to avail this should fill up a separate form available in the college office.

SMART CLASS ROOM
College has a facility of Smart Class Room for Teachers, invited Guest Lecturers and Students.

EXAMINATION
Another hallmark among various facilities already available is the adequate space that the College has for the smooth conduct of exams for over 1500 students at a time.

COLLEGE AUDITORIUM
The College has a fully air conditioned auditorium with 750 seating capacity equipped with all modern facilities for conducting various programmes, seminars, conferences, debates, cultural items, plays etc. It is available to any Govt. & Non-Govt. Organization on terms and conditions available with the college management for academic and cultural purposes.

PLAY GROUND (GAMES & SPORTS)
The college has a vast play ground for Cricket, Hockey, Volleyball, Basketball, Handball. There is a Badminton Court and an adequate provision for Table Tennis. Each student is expected to play at least one game.

STUDENT CAREER COUNSELLING AND PLACEMENT CELL
The College enjoys the tradition of having counseling for the service of the students. It is a unique opportunity offered by the institution for the benefit of the students on the campus. The college has great concern for the integral growth of the students and staff both teaching and non-teaching. There is facility of problem solving related to adolescence. By the term counseling we mean not advising or arguing or not even guiding but journeying together with the students. The goal of counseling is to achieve a better personality, adjustment and growth is maturity by stimulating the students to explore their resources. We help the students to help themselves to change their attitudes and to get a deeper knowledge of self and self awareness. We help them to get into the process of modification of self perception and a modification of perception of others and of the world.

To provide information to the students, regarding the various Career options available to them and to help them identify the ones conforming to their aptitude. We give opportunity to various educational & Career institutes to interact with students by holding interactive sessions and seminars.

PLACEMENT CELL
The present education system demands that the students coming out of the College should have a clear-cut idea of the career they want to adopt. In this context throughout the year various lectures are arranged for the students to pick a suitable career option for themselves.
Various agencies like AHA, NIIT, NAMED, Air Force etc. have launched awareness camps along with interactive sessions in the college. We are proud to announce two of our students were placed in Adlabs and two in Jet Airways after their graduation.

15 under-graduate students stand selected by WIPRO in on campus selection. Two students were placed in GENPAC.

GRIEVIENCE REDREASSAL CELL
The management has established a Grievance Redreassal Cell in the college. any person among the students or staff can lodge his/her complaint with the cell and demand appropriate redreassal. The complaint register and the Box are available with the Dean Students .

WOMEN’S STUDIES CENTRE
A women’s studies center has been setup in the college which enroll students who want a deep insight to get sensitized to the women issues and to develop the entrepreneur skills by learning creative activity like pottery decor, candles, painting etc.

BOOK CLUB
The College has a Book club which offers a platform for literary activities to the staff and students to voice their ideas and views.

ACTIVITIES OF VARIOUS CLUBS:
Different Clubs of this College remained active throughout the year by organizing various activities to generate awareness about social issues of the society and made the students to come up with new ideas and ideology to remove evils and bring reforms.

RED CROSS UNIT
Red Cross Unit of this College is totally dedicated to philanthropy. Students of this unit work tirelessly to bring smiles on the face of the ailing people by donating blood and organize Red Cross Mela in College premises.

SCIENCE CLUB
The purpose of Science Club is to promote interest, understanding and knowledge of the scientific world. The activities of this Club impart confidence in the minds of the participants which results in ultimate academic excellence of students. It also updates students regarding the newer concepts and innovative skills in the field of science.

RED RIBBON CLUB
Red Ribbon is the International symbol of HIV and AIDS Awareness. The Red Ribbon offers a symbol of hope and support for those living with HIV and AIDS. The main objective of the RED Ribbon Club is to encourage students to take up various activities such as – Awareness Programme on AIDS, Voluntary Blood Donation, Poster making/ Slogan Writing competition/ Skits, Declamation contest, Essay writing competition, Quiz etc. for the awareness of common public.

LEGAL LETRACY CLUB
Legal literacy club was constituted to provide knowledge of Law and various legal nomenclatures available for developing positive self of women in society and make them empowered women.

EQUAL OPPURTUNITY CELL
Equal opportunity cell was constituted as per the directions of UGC to provide equal opportunities to the minorities of the State for educational opportunities and social upliftment of their status and to overcome all kinds of discrimination.

INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL (IQAC)
Internal Quality Assurance Cell is an integral part of the institution and facilitates consistent efforts towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement. The cell makes significant and meaningful contribution of channelizing the efforts and measures of the institution towards academic excellence in this era of globalization.

LANGUAGE AND LITERARY CLUB
The avowed aim of this club is to bring out the literary talent of the students. The club conducts essay, short story, debating, speech and drama competitions.

LANGUAGE CLUB
The main aim of this club is to enhance the communication skills besides increasing their knowledge about different languages and literature.

NATURE / ECO CLUB
A Nature / Eco Club is functioning in the college to create awareness among Students, Teachers and Public at large and to develop an infrastructure for effective Environmental Education at grass root level. The Club also plants various types of tress within the college premises to pay back to the Mother Nature.

GENDER SENSITATION: COMMITTEE AGAINST SEXUAL HARASSMENT (GS CASH)
The management has established a Grievance Redressal Cell in the college. Any person among the students or staff can lodge his / her complaint with the cell and demand appropriate redressal. Blog and 360o Review Boxes fixed at different places which are opened every week and the complaints are sent for redressal.

DISABILITY CELL
The college is running a cell for students with disability, to promote Higher Education among students with special needs (HESPN). The cell collects data of all the disabled enrolled students and looks into all the requirements and assistance that can be given to such students by the management.
